Diary Writing

This week the children have been using the picture book ‘Tuesday’ as a stimulus to write a diary from a frogs aspect as he flies around a countryside.

The children loved our book talk sessions as they discussed the pictures as well as inferring what could be happening and the emotions felt by the characters. Throughout their journey they have identified some of the features: chronological order, first person, emotions, past tense as well as expanded noun phrases.

Here is an extract from a child’s work that has not been edited yet (green marks are from teacher as nice ideas).
