Quoting others using speech marks

 

This week, Year 5 are learning how to write a newspaper article. Today, we learned how to use speech marks to quote witnesses or experts in our articles. In order to prepare us for this, we interviewed one another and then reported the words that were said, using speech marks and reporting clauses (for example, 'the witness stated').
