Learning objectives: I can learn the basic fundamentals of jumping and how to accurately measure jumps vertically and horizontally

This week the children in Year 5 looked at the standing long jump. We looked at breaking down the skill of broad jumps, first without using our hands and then with. After we had put all the elements together we got the mats out and practiced jumping on their.

This also gave children an opportunity to coach and evaluate their peers through watching. The children were extremely good at measuring their peers accurately.

Next lesson we will be getting out iPad to slow-mo video each person's jump and really critique technique.
