The Explorer

Over the past few weeks the children have loved reading our text driver ‘The Explorer’. A group of children crash land into the Amazon Jungle where they face many problems as they try to find their way home.

Firstly, they wrote a diary entry from the point of view of a character from the book. The children needed to use the correct features as well as the taught punctuation elements.

This week, the children have finished writing a fact file about the Amazon Jungle. The audience will be Year 3, who will be studying rainforests in the summer term. Using their research skills as well as colons, subordinating clauses and other taught elements the children created their best pieces of writing so far this year. Well done to you all.
